Worship is at the center of the life of a church. Psalm 95 tells us, “O Come, let us sing unto the Lord! Let us heartily rejoice in the rock of our salvation!” Our services at Berkmar seek to glorify God and to help all worshipers grow in the knowledge and love of God.

At Berkmar, we seek to respect the depth of the Christian tradition, particularly our United Methodist tradition, while also integrating modern, creative worship styles. We seek to honor and worship God in all we do, whether it’s through a 9th century hymn like “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” a revival hymn, a Gaither tune, a Chris Tomlin song, a call to worship from Kenya, or through meditative songs from the TaizĂ© community in France. The most important part about worship for us is not the musical style, but that we’re gathered together to praise our Lord!

Berkmar UMC’s choir provides leadership at the 11 AM service each week under the direction of Dr. Nan Spicer, Director of Music.

Our youth participate in a praise and worship dance team which leads us in worship through dance, as well as in a youth choir that performs for special occasions.
